While quarantined, I had more free time along with the opportunity to reflect more. After weeks of boredom and watching Netflix, I wanted to see if there was another way I could make the most out of this period of uncertainty. I have always loved having long conversations with my friends about common teen issues like relationships, school troubles, friendships, social media, and more. I also felt that issues like mental and women’s healthcare are often overlooked and not emphasized enough in our education.
Hence, the idea and founding of “TeentoTeen” came in mind. I wanted to create a platform where teenagers feel confident expressing their views and are willing to help other teenagers without feeling the need to censor their opinions. I also believed since we had more free time now, it would be an activity for teenagers to keep themselves occupied.
I began drafting a collaborative process for how teenagers from all over the world and I could publish content for other teenagers to read. I was fortunate enough to meet and recruit leaders, writers, graphic designers, and photographers by spreading the word through Instagram.
Months later, here I am with a diligent and devoted group of teenagers with the first issue of TeentoTeen, and I could not be more grateful for their tireless efforts.
